Government, Administration and Politics

The master’s degree in Government, Administration and Politics, entirely offered in Italian, allows students to draw from the exceptional foundation of Luiss Political Science programs combined with valuable input as to the state of public affairs and real world applications from companies and institutions that surround public policy and administration. Students will venture into the inner workings of public policy decisions and implementation, and be ready to join the conversation in tackling this new and ever-changing frontier in governance.

Public policy worldwide is currently undergoing a vast transformation. Policies are based more on preliminary technical analyses and evaluation of potential impact. Both communications and media savvy work in tandem to create public awareness while lobbying is evolving to tackle issues through technology tools and other instruments. As a result, governments worldwide need new competencies to see their policies implemented with success.

Employment and professional opportunities for graduates

The two majors in Politics and Communication and Government and Administration lead students down two distinct career paths.

Each of the majors is further divided into specialized concentrations, each including a recommended set of elective courses and workshops, each tailored to the specific needs of the job market.

The courses draw heavily from recent developments in the markets to shape students to reach their career objectives:

  • Government and Public Administration Pubblica Amministrazione (for majors in Government and Administration): designed for students interested in becoming civil servants in Italy
  • Public Policy and Impact Analysis (for majors in Government and Administration): policy analysts and experts for foundations, NGOs, think tanks and the private sector
  • Communication and Media (for majors in Politics and Communication): journalism, corporate communication, social media management for the public and private sectors, political and communication consulting
