Founded in 2011, ICEDD is a research center that studies democratization processes and the quality of democracy. The center follows in the footsteps of the International Center for Transition Studies and relies on a multidisciplinary approach including political science and contemporary history.
The ICEDD is directed by Leonardo Merlino and coordinated by Giovanni Orsina. The Research Committee includes Sergio Fabbrini, Roberto D’Alimonte, Gaetano Quagliariello, Fabio Pammolli and Vladislav Zubok. The center relies on LUISS professors and researchers as well as a network of international research centers that focus on democratic transitions.
The center sponsors seminars, conferences and publications to share their research results.
